Founded in the early 80’s, the SATELEC® - PIERRE ROLLAND® group changed its name into ACTEON® (2003) in order to federate, under a common banner, its history, its brands and the personnel of each respective industrial firm and foreign subsidiary it currently represents.
ACTEON®, a world leader in small equipment and consumables for dentists, has become an internationally-established group.
ACTEON® hires more than 650 employees half of whom work outside France, in five manufacturing sites (Bordeaux, La Ciotat, Milan, Tuttlingen and Bilbao), in six subsidiaries and seven representative offices established on the major international dental markets.

The production site in Italy designs and manufactures radiology equipment which, with the products sold under the SOPRO® brand, complete the imaging division offer.
Amongst the recent innovations in radiology are X-Mind® unity and WhiteFox®.
Its R&D Department is made up of pharmacists and biologists working in close collaboration with universities and clinicians to create products that meet practitioners’ needs.
ACTEON® PIERRE ROLLAND® offers anaesthetics, therapeutic and cosmetic ranges, impression materials and hygiene products.
Innovations such as Expasyl®, Riskontrol® Perfect and Kite Surf are mainly manufactured in Bordeaux-Mérignac (France) and are distributed equally in France and abroad.
ACTEON® SOPRO®, based in Marseilles-La Ciotat (France), manufactures digital imaging systems for the dental market.

Finally, its mastery of fluorescence technology became reality with the recent launch of

SOPRO®-COMEG is the ACTEON® Group division specialized in medical endoscopy. It incorporates the combination of skills in medical imaging of SOPRO, based in Marseilles-La Ciotat (France), and those of engineering for endoscopes and micro-lenses of COMEG, based in Tuttlingen (Germany).
SOPRO®-COMEG offers the safest, most advanced products that enable reliable, reproducible operations with rapid recovery. They are used in urological procedures, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, gynaecology, vertebral surgery and ENT.
The SOPRO®-COMEG range includes cameras (Sopro® 397 HD, Sopro® 181 USB, UBICAM®), light generators (Xenon, Sopro® 281 LED, UBILED®), insufflators, pumps, shavers and a line of innovative endoscopes such as the HEOS® designed for hysteroscopy and ULYSS®, the only autoclavable endoscope that enables the nasal anatomy to be observed in its entirety.
