R&D at Satelec® is run by a team of fifteen in-house highly qualified technicians and engineers as well as through a very close collaboration with public and private laboratories.

13 engineers work on products innovations and new technologies to remain at the cutting edge of dental range or even a step ahead. Innovation is the key to improve health.

Founded in the early ’80s, the group Satelec - Pierre Rolland was renamed Acteon ® in 2003. But the independent history of the two branches of the group is older and testifies of a solid experience based on the duration and the multiple episodes of its construction.
1946 • Founding of Pierre Rolland Laboratories.
1970 • Founding of the Satelec Company in Bordeaux.
1978 • Satelec® merges with Sanofi Group
1984 • A subsidiary is set up in Düsseldorf (Germany) (North and East European area).
1986 • Pierre Rolland Laboratories merges with Satelec® in Bordeaux – Mérignac.
• A subsidiary is set up in Barcelona, Spain (Iberian Peninsula and South American area).
1987
1991 • LBO 1 1993 • A representative office is set up in Seoul (South Korea).
• Founding of Satelec Medical.
1994 • Representative offices are opened in Ahmedabad (India) and Amman (Jordan)
1998 • Acquisition of an autoclave design and manufacturing operation in Bilbao (Spain)
• Acquisition of Amadent in Philadelphia (USA).
1999 • Subsidiaries are set up in Cambridge (UK) and Ahmedabad (India)
