EXPASYL: OUTSMARTING TRADITIONAL SULCULAR OPENING

Traditional opening of the sulcus is a long, traumatic procedure that often depends on the force of the practitioner. As the pressure exerted varies with each individual, it can lead to the risk of an additional lesion

to the epithelial attachment, bleeding and pain. 20 years ago, as a remedy for this restrictive technique, ACTEON® was the first to propose to dental surgeons an atraumatic coumpound which allows a sulcular opening without breaking the epithelia-conjunctive attachment . An accurate impression of the subgingival space is obtained for a successful prosthesis completion. Expasyl is acclaimed by digital impression camera users (CAD/CAM) for its tangible results.

This minimally invasive way has been specifically calculated to effectively open the sulcus with the right pressure .Expasyl™ is an optimum clinical solution both for practitioners and patients enabling an impression of high precision. The prosthesis is natural, aesthetic, perfectly adjusted. The gum is safeguarded.

01 PRODUCT BENEFITS

THE BEST PARTNER FOR A NATURAL AND AESTHETIC PROSTHESIS

Unmatched performance (1) (2)

Effective and atraumatic sulcular opening:

  • Quality of opening & Efficient drying
  • Respect of the epithelial attachment and of the gum collaret.
  • No resumption of bleeding. No recession. No pain.

APPROVED BY EXPERTS

Expasyl & Cad-Cam
Dr. Fabienne Jordan-Combarieu
A preparation protocol is necessary prior to recording optical data. A system for gentle gum eversion and reliable haemostasis, such as Expasyl, is an essential part of this dental protocol. […] There is an additional specific advantage in using Expasyl with direct CAD/CAM (during treatment): the epithelial attachment is treated with care, which means that bonding can be carried out during the same clinical process whilst respecting the gum collarets during all the phases of creation, in a single operation.

Expasyl & Epithelial attachment
Dr. Jacques Charon
The epithelio-conjunctive attachment is the most fragile part of the periodontium. […] It is really important for the future of the prosthesis to not be iatrogenic. […] The Pierre Rolland laboratories were the first to propose to dental surgeons the Expasyl system which allows a gingival eviction without breaking the epithelio-conjunctive attachment.

THE PASTE THAT CAN BE USED IN ALL CLINICAL APPLICATIONS

Multiple Indications
Expasyl can be used in a wide range of cases:

  • Conventional and optical imprints
  • Sealing / Bonding
  • Conservative dentistry when restoring class II and V cavities
  • Implantology

02 MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY

The paste opens the sulcus and dries it (bleeding, saliva, fluids) efficiently.
Adding an accessory, a solution or performing any other treatment is no longer necessary.
The cervical limits and emergence profile are perfectly accessible.

Expasyl enables the dental practitionner to obtain an horizontal sulcular opening significantly greater than with a cord (1) and generates a pressure 1.7 to 9.2 times higher than other retraction pastes on the market (2).

ATRAUMATIC & PAINLESS PROCEDURE

Expasyl generates 37 times less pressure than cord (143 vs 5 396 kPa)(1).
The epithelial attachment is preserved (beyond 2 400 kPa the epithelial attachment integrity is no longer guaranteed)(2).
The risks of permanent gingival retraction and bone resorption are reduced.
There is no pain for the patient.

SIMPLE, FAST AND ECONOMICAL PROTOCOL

Time is better managed & procedure is simplified

  • Rinse / Dry the area
  • Setting in place: Expasyl is easily placed within 20 seconds into the sulcus.
  • Contact time: Expasyl is effective in only 1 to 2 minutes max.
  • Removal : Expasyl is easily removed with a gentle air-water spray.

Budget is controlled

  • With Expasyl, no anaesthesia, no other haemostasis are required.
  • Time-savings: up to five minutes per tooth (especially important in the case of multiple preparations).
  • Impression-taking in the same session, even if there is profuse bleeding during preparation.
